Most likely an alignment problem. When was your last servicing? Under warranty or not, it should have been caught earlier. Get it checked out before you change tyres.

Re: F10 tyre uneven wear

Maybe too much toe in (hit the kerb ?) or worn bushings .....

Hoist it up and have a look first before deciding what to do .....

Re: F10 tyre uneven wear

If outer, it sounds like adjustment of camber or toe. Hardly seen too much positive camber though, usually more inner wear than outer coz of negative camber. Best bring to shop to check.

Re: F10 tyre uneven wear

Brought to PM for 1st servicing at 15 k and the service adviser say that we must do the tyre rotation every 5 k. And they say its due to us not doing the rotation. Car still under warranty..

Re: F10 tyre uneven wear

Tyres are wear and tear. Warranty doesnt apply. Rotation is every 10k. Alignment every 5k. Then again most dun do...

Re: F10 tyre uneven wear

Looks to me like you are commuting daily to office or some building that has a spiral ramp that is turning clockwise....plus your more aggressive drive up or down. Mine showed symptoms on both sides of front tyres.

Re: F10 tyre uneven wear

So this is not under warranty huh?? Didn't know that RFT is so sensitive. Will get my workshop to do a alightment check after tyre change then..

Tyres not under warranty, but we meant there might be something unusual with the suspension, especially for it to fail within 15,000km.

Re: F10 tyre uneven wear

Seems that its possible to be the wear pattern caused by frequently going up and down those spiral ramps. I stay in hbd and park at mscp, my tire have developed this wear pattern too. Sometimes when the road is not very flat (with road camber) my steering will pull to one side.

Re: F10 tyre uneven wear

tyre after 15K worn till can see the thread?! you mean the metal ply can been seen? this is pretty serious wear.
the SA is talking crap or must have just eaten BS when he tell you this is due to not rotating your tyre!
tyre rotation only helps to wear your tyres more evenly. not fix alignment issues.
that dimwit SA advice is like you going to a doctor with a fever and he tells you the fever is due to you not having drank enough water. go home drink more water and you will be fine.

Re: F10 tyre uneven wear

If Serina Wee is an SA I'm sure cars will be sold out with a year long wait list...

Re: F10 tyre uneven wear

There's something about PML SAs - kind of lack passion.

My previous other ride's SA (different make) seems to know everything about the ride. Would bring me into the WS and show me what he meant - from brake test to sticking his finger into the engine to show me how my engine mount while his colleague rev to while holding the brakes, crawled under the car to show me the bushings ....... I had 3 generations of that ride and had to change to bmw when that make went bust (not the AD).

At PML - it just seems procedural .......

Re: F10 tyre uneven wear

Just to share my experience.
When I upgraded to 20 inch, I went straight to Kenny for an alignment.
He made some adjustments and told me that was the best he can do with stock setup.
I will still experience tyre wear and true enough, I have outer wear on front and inner on rear.
He did mentioned that this is the nature of BMW. Only camber kit will solve the problem.

Since I don't travel much, I left it as it is. I'm ready for a new set of tyres as I have already covered 27k with the current set.

Re: F10 tyre uneven wear

Could be MSCP...I do lots of mscp and I have this uneven wear issue too.

Passenger side front tyre will wear the outer side a lot faster than the others.

Consistently had this problem no matter what I drive.

Also have problem with steering pulling left, and slightly off center steering position on the f10.
