F10 Need Overhaul

Dear Bros, my old f10 this morning suddenly jerk n making a hard knocking noise from the engine. Regardless of idling or running on Low speed. My mileage is 117,000
Engaged tow truck to tow & send to a workshop @ amok. They opened the engine cover & showed me that the screw from the timing chain broken & need to perform either half or full overhaul.

My question is: necessary to carry full overhaul
He quoted me : half overhaul around $4k +++
: full overhaul around $10k +++

Bros that familiar or with knowledge with this issued, please help & input info.
