F10 Brakes: Can 2011 F10 550i Front brakes fit 2014 F10 520i?

Hi Sifus,

Just wondering if anyone knows if this is possible?
I have a friend from the states who just upgraded to BBK. He's driving a F10 550i.

Just wondering if these brakes 550i F10 stock brakes can fit my 2014 F10 520i? I’m just looking for an upgrade for the front calipers. Does anyone know?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I dont think so.. 550 are bigger..

I am thinking you need to change both the callipers and rotors as a set?

You may want to check with the workshops, i think it should be doable. I have seen 535i with 550i front brakes.

I have swapped my 520i calipers and rotors to a set from the 650i. It's doable if it's the same with 650i.

Sweet bro. Yea. I think the 550 650 750 share the same set. How's the performance so far if I may ask?

Can with pre-lci. I have seen it before.

I have swapped my 520i calipers and rotors to a set from the 650i. It's doable if it's the same with 650i.

Was it a direct bolt on or you customized brackets for that ?

Electronic handbrake ok ?

Direct swap from a 650i set, no customization at all. Only thing I did was I took the opportunity to spray the calipers black.
Only the front brakes were swapped, as only front set was available, not sure abt the rear can be swapped.

Honestly, the butt feel very subjective, furthermore it's been a year or so. I reckon its high speed braking is where the diff shows.
I presume the engineers at BMW know what they are doing when they need to stop the much higher power generated on the 550i/650i to achieve the stopping distances.
It also looks better especially if u r on 19"/20" wheels, filling up the empty spaces.

Saw that the 650i front rotors have the same part number as the 550i front rotors ...... Looks promising .....

How's the condition of the rotors ?

If the condition of the rotors is so-so ...... Then weigh the cost of getting new rotors versus shipping.

Stock rotors are not that ex ..... But 4 rotors are costly for shipping because of its weight.
