F10 528

Thinking of getting an F10 528 from PI instead of a PML 523 because the former has a more powerful 3L NA engine (0-100kph 6.8 sec vs 8.5 secs) but probably cheaper with a higher OMV. (Cannot make myself crazy profit margins PML is making these days.)

My concern from getting a PI unit is the reliability of the workshop for servicing and when making warranty claims, and the durability of the vehicle parts as the car is not manufactured for the Singapore tropical climate. I also notice that none of the advertisers in the papers offer their units with GPS Navigation which is an option I'm interested.

Anybody has any comments or PI recommendation. I see most bros here look very satisfied with their rides and PI.

Hope u guys don't find this a repeat of the recent similar thread. Didn't want to hijack on that.

Thanks for your input.:wavey:

Re: F10 528

I do not believe that there is such a thing a tropical specs. Logicaly, some place in Europe during summer is also very hot. And from a manufacturing point of view, it does not make sense to vary too many critical parts like cooling for different markets. Such systems are standard and inherent in all segments of the market.

Agree on this. I doubt the part number will be different for different regions.

But for the 528 model, are the spare parts difficult to obtain especially wrt engine, brakes, etc? I intend to keep this ride for long.

Hi Rocky,

saw this from the net: For the US and Australian markets, the 528i will get the older N52 engines due to higher sulfur content in the fuels.

also heard some are on N53...

cheers

How much does a 528 cost? I would rather not get a 528 to be honest. I would either get a 523, or 535, or 550.

Re: F10 528

Yeah, I think best bet would be either 523 or 535 for modability and work shop experience.

Enjoy..... the F10 is a great looking car....

Re: F10 528

With regards to Tropicalisation, i think there was a discussion in this forum. For certain model, i rem the diff is wattage of radiator fan used.
