F10 523i speakers upgrade.

Dear All,

Have a friend who is going to upgrade his F10 523i Highline 12 speakers to aftermarket.
Thinking of getting this and install it in my current F10 523i basic which comes with only 6 speakers.
Is this 12 speakers compatible and can be installed in my car ?
Is it worth upgrading?
Any coding needed because his idrive shows equalizer functions however mine only comes with trebble and bass.
Any recommended workshop to install?

Else I could just do a simple upgrade plug and play from one of the sponsors here.

More speakers does not automatically mean better sound at the end of the day. Yes you can put 20 speakers if you wanted just that fabrication is required and cut holes here and there in your car and some sticking out of weird places that you wouldn't find nice.
No coding is required as a good setup will have its own dedicated sound mixer outside of the idrive system. I'd suggest letting your buddy go install then have a listen for yourself as sound is a very personal thing. See if its really worth paying so much more then sticking with the stock setup

My apologies for the confusion.
Friend is actually giving me his 12 old speakers from F10 523i Highline to me. So my question is can I install it in my car which originally comes with only the basic 6 speakers.

An amplifier seems to be involved without which will not get the requisite power to drive the speakers.

i am looking to upgrade sound system in my F10 too, since it only came with basic hifi package.
Could not find much viable solutions but did find these on Taobao, probably will need to get some guys to install locally.

my personal experience.. better sound comes from a better amp. i have changed the speakers but improvement is insignificant. and changed my amp eventually and i could feel the big step up.
