F02 7 series 2011 Software Update

Hi All

Am driving a 2011 F02 7 series & thinking of updating my car software to latest version 3.61.
Called PML n guess wat, the advisor told me not to update as many cases after upgrading some function do not work anymore n must upgrade our hardware???
Anyone w experience updating ur software with or w/o issue to share?
One shop told me maybe better mileage, aircond cooler, audio sound better.......
So lets hear out ur experience

I did the software upgrade...no issues. Did this so that i can upgrade the idrive.
