Singaporeans are very sensitive about the makes and models of the cars they drive. Put simply there are 2 genre of characters on the road before accidents or road rage happen.

1.) The jealous type - see a more expensive car zooming past them - they go "hao lian lah... drive so fast for what? Spore can speed meh? Stupid people, buy something so expensive and cannot use beyond 120km/h" - basically sour grapes though some hint of truth on hindsight especially on depreciation.

2.) The gung-ho, metal balls type - see a more expensive sports car in front - "ok let's chiet him! See if my subaru can beat that M or GTR.. nbz u cut in front of me... i show you my civic can cut u back too... come see who has balls... yay I win! My car can beat your 3x more expensive M by 3 car lengths... woohoo.."

Both losers. Best to keep your head steady and temper under control. Take a deep breath and move on. You want to lose a moment of ego rather than something more tragic.

Yes, I think there are only these two groups. There should not be BMW drivers playing/racing with other marques, more or less expensive, as you defined it.

Strangely, I have seen a more expensive car, like a 335/535 attempting to race a cheaper car, like a used GTR.

I have also seen 320s race the cheaper Evos or Rexes.

Hence I am not sure if your hypothesis is too generic, or too narrowly defined.

It's just a channel to make known to the other driver.. I agree with kenntona's 3 scenarios.. But I can't be coming out and settle on the spot.. He might just ignore me.. And it' reflects badly on me.. But there wasn't any race in the first place.. Was just making my way home.. Another M car wouldn't bother to race with me.. I wldn't either.. Like wise for the more superior makes.. Even if it is a "race", it wld be friendly.. Don't need to cut my path at a red light, it was pure aggression..

And no pt speculating on versions of stories.. Cos I didn't step on his toes at all..

It's also to let others know there is a mad man on the loose..

Maybe on another forum...a frozen grey 535i was complaining that a frozen white m3 was hogging the road on pie and refused to let him filter in at eunos exit...so dangerous that he had to stop to prevent an accident! So scared when the young man wind down window to confront...Just an old man rushing home to open door for the dumb maid who forgot to bring the farking keys.

Yes, I think there are only these two groups. There should not be BMW drivers playing/racing with other marques, more or less expensive, as you defined it.

My bad my bad. I forgot rules here. Cannot play the jap/euro make comparison. Equivalent to playing race card game. I expect Conti made cars to be faster, more expensive hence better. I'm shallow and naive. Damn those chio gals who told me they would rather get into a BMW/Audi/Mercs than Toyota/Nissan... haiz. Totally misled me. I actually believe them!

Chio gals got into your car because you are handsome too !!! If your face is rusty and fugly, I am sure even if you have an Aventador, they will siam you and would rather squeeze into a JDM with a handsome driver.

Give yourself a pat for still being able to attract chio gals. Don't credit the car for your own charisma.

BTW, are you also getting paranoid and insecured about your chio GFs eyeing at Lambo/Ferrari/Porsche owners?

In the past, whenever I see another car(cheapo JDM zing or pricey chio supercar) zoom past me, I will immediately get an erection and start dropping my gears and gassing to chase, overtake, hog, drive like beng, to see that farker s face(or farkeress s face).

Times have changed, mentality have also changed, expectations also changed(NNB only salaries hasn't changed for the better). These days, I give way to taxis, GTRs, M3, Vios, etc etc.

Even when I meet good old Kenntona on the road in his flowery shirt and matching paint on the Lambo flashing headlights behind me (as seen in the previous pic) through the rear view mirror will not draw me into a race or argument ( I simply wind down my window and say hello by showing 2 x middle fingers which he accepts gracefully all the time. and we move on from there).

I had an incident with a 325i E9x cabrio on PIE coming from airport last night to share too.

Road in front of me had other cars, not super crowded but there was a nice gap of maybe 4 cars ahead. I was going pretty damn fast (IIRC, ~100kph, car is full 5 pax with my family members) I was just driving along, and after being stuck in a 1hr traffic TO the airport caused by a 5-car pile up at 10:30pm I decided not to have a moron tailgating me on my way back home, so I accelerated up to ~110kph, he was still right behind my back so I thought he wanted to pass, I signaled, moved away and let him pass, and guess what? He passed me, then decided to block me from entering the overtaking lane again, then slowed down. I wonder what the fuck is wrong with these people.
