can they punch tru the center cat too???

basically wat they did was that they take your exsiting pipe... they empty everything out.. includind the muffler, for the muffler they then put the steel sponges thing??.. so basically it looks like it has not been tampered with but evrything inside has been punched out.. not bad.. took the car just now, sounds pretty damn good, very bassy, the purrr of the straight 6... and they go all the way as in .. evrything has been punched out or emptied .. very good workmanship too..

Bro for that kind of price, isn't it better to get a whole new muffler? Anyway if you are happy with it, then it's cool

Hi there,

I not quite understand what u mean by this sentence... care to elaborate more??

Cheers ya...

cheemz

$850 for a 3 series operation is far too expensive. It is a very straightforward job that takes less than half a day. Go to Fong Kim.

I got what u mean. thanks. ;) btw, the price they quoted.... far away compared to the two RB mentioned. Happy modding !

CB Hood means labia, you mean you never see before ah.

ok seriously speaking, I punched through my muffler, replaced with straight perforated pipe, surrounded by some steel wool shit, replaced the entire cat back pipes with 2.5" stainless steel pipe all the way to the muffler, then took my original cat and welded in flanges at both ends so i can replace the cat whenever i want by removing 3 screws each side, 10 minute job. So on the streets, cat on, go to track cat off, plug and play.

lots of extra things, all in $700, at man.

Basically the only reason i went to them is cause when it comes to LTA or PML or anyone for that matter, they would not notice any diff unless they take the whole exhaust/pipe down. so it looks pretty much stock, but thank you bros for ur support i guess?...

Hi Bro,

Did you do the box operation as well?
If not, does replacing the cat with the stainless steel pipes makes any slight performance diff or just sound.

I took out my centre cat at AH Man, replaced it with some stainless steel pipes, chopped off my chrome exhaust tips and replaced it with stainless steel pipes also. All in SGD$80....

Besides the potential loss for low-end torque.. there was some issues with regards to a full free-flow exhaust, some guys did it before, but i can't really recall the specifics. Although it may work well for turbo cars, it can be quite bad for BMWs...much so for auto cars.

Don't ever let sound be a judgement for performance increase.

Whiskytango can comment?

LTA may not notice..but they may smell the bad exhaust, since there is no cat.

Try gunning your car and stopping to smell the air around your exhaust, it will be very very different. This may be the factor you may wish to consider.

Please note your FC changes as well in the next two weeks.

One of the suggested methods is to upgrade your exhaust to a next-upper level BMW. Yours is a 320 2.2 right? Then use the 325 exhaust. This will give you better flow yet retaining almost stock status. And a much better low-end with back pressure. Realistically speaking, it will result in much better FC for driving around Singapore's start stop. Unless you're racing on long expressways all the time. 850$ is better off getting a Supersprint or equivalent exhaust box.

Stevenwu, can you please comment?
