evaluating pre-owned E90 325i and new Golf GTI

Hi All,
I am thinking of buying either a pre-owned E90 BMW 325i (if I can find a suitable one) or a MK V VW Golf GTI. The GTI cost SGD 113k from PIs, 1-2 year old BMW E90 325i is much more.
What do you think? Buying Golf from PI, resales value, maintenance and availability of spare parts. I used to drive a E46 318i and then E46 325i for more more than 7 years.

Please advice.

Go with the GTI. Cheaper and faster than 325. DSG. Easily modded. Loads of toys. Build quality not too dissimilar. Spare parts no issue.

GTI aircon not so powerful and interior room is slightly bigger than E46. Stage 1 mode easily get 240+ bhp and 340+Nm, DSG is a smooth and fast operator.
Also when you want to be stationary at slope, in "D" mode you have to either step the brake or control the accelerator if not it will roll back immedately (DSG acts like manual gearbox).

I suggest you wait for the new Mercedes C230 (if $$$ is not an issue and C230 should be better than E90 325, I think) and test it then you can compare these 3 makes and make your decision.
