Used Lotus Elan 1.6T Convertible Car for Sale from Singapore, Eurospeed Auto - sgCarMart

:yummie: one of my dream car when it first appeared, and the asking price is freakingly cheap for 10 years ........ kekeke... my friend bought one from euro sports 2 years back for more than 50K, COE 8/2011 :lol2:

would appreciate if i can have some inputs

cheers

Re: Eurospeed Auto

to the best of my knowledge... no one has ever had a good thing to say about used car salesmen... all the way from USA to Singapore.

if you ask me, i will go for the car, not for the dealer
get expert help to inspect the car and survey the market for a feel of the prices.
then you offer at whatever price you think is correct. Period.

Re: Eurospeed Auto

my personal experience with them was not good. PM if you want details.

Re: Eurospeed Auto

Is the price quoted with new COE? Actual COE for that car is 2011..

Give me the number plate and i might have more info for you...

If possible, buy the S2 rather than the S1..Currently, i'm awaiting for a S2 to come along if any...

yep, i agree it really depends on the condition of the car, however i wouldn't say all used car dealers are bad. but buying from a dealer with good reputation can really make the difference in after sales service

i would rather buy the S2 than S1 definitely, but i wonder if there are any S2 left locally... seems if i didn't get this i will have another "competitor" if the S2 does comes along...kekekek
i do not have the number plate, probably going down next week..

cheers

These kind of "official" evaluations can be fixed. Pls beware of dealers that use this as a strong selling tool.

yup... it pays to have a "friend in the business"

that kind of rubbish report ... can throw into the drain

Re: Eurospeed Auto

honestly at 28.8K with 10 years COE, its stagerringly cheap. dun care abt the external condition....just make sure the chassis is straight and the engine is running well...the rest can be fixed up later....its a beautiful car, but do expect high maint costs if it wasnt well taken care by prev owner

Re: Eurospeed Auto

Peck, are you adding the fleet? :)

IMHO with cars of this age, it really is the luck of the draw -- your experience will depend more on the condition of the car and how it was treated by its previous owners, rather than on which dealer you buy it from. To me, dealers are useful in making sellers realise the "correct" market price of their assets, be they cars or property, and this dealer has done its job since we all agree the asking price is fair to good.

I have purchased some gear from this dealer before, but not a car. So far the experience has been top notch.

The Elan is a beautiful car -- I have seen some on the road that have been obviously cared for by their owners, as well as others, which, like all cars in Singapore past a certain age, look well past their prime.

Good luck, and please keep us updated!

Re: Eurospeed Auto

honestly 28.8k can get you something so unique, and best of all your dream car. what more do u ask for?

i only got a vintage no from them, and its very effective in the whole nego process. lol

cheers!

very cheap for an elan. i must pop down soon and check it out. pointless to ask too much over the phone..

yeah fox, i agree it depends on how well or unwell it was treated by the previous owner. but, sometimes we can get much information about the car from a good dealer.. obviously in this case we won't get to know who the previous owner was, so the dealer's information is pretty important..
i will not be so worried if i'm buying directly from owners, as was the case when i bought the e30 from you :)
and it's still running well, with a new LSD

i think there r 2 EL@Ns on SGc@rm@rt now? one blue, one red

yes, blue one is asking for 32k, COE expiring 2010.... BUT, i still don't know if 28.8k is for the elan with a new 10 years COE as indicated in the ad, or it's just a sales gimmick..

will keep you guys posted

cheers

Re: Eurospeed Auto

My uncle used to own one of these when it was brand new. Still remember we need to stand by a dry cloth to wipe the leak from the canvas roof top. YES it leaks on rainy days and the car is less than one year old.. Head turner during those days. Light and responsive.

hahah.... yes, elan's do leak. it's a design flaw right from the start, but i have had cars that leaks even through the door seams, so i can live with that.

Good to hear that! Am sure she will give many more years of good service.

There will be others. They aren't as rare as we seem to think.

Am pretty sure you can get support from the UK Lotus owners clubs, forums and specialists, in any case.
