Hi Bros,

I wonder if anyone can advice.

When the car stops and parked for a few hours, the start up will see the engine idel @ 600RPM then start to choke a bit then a minute later ... OK. good to go ...:furious:

When cold start in the morning ... no problem. :(

Gives those guys waiting for my parking space in Tampines 1 heart attack because have to wait for my E36 to "prep" ....

Anyone can advice would be apprecaited .... btw, changed new O2 sensor and clean the Mass Air Flow Meter & New Plugs.

Cheers!!!

Re: Engine start up Issue

hi,

Used to own a e36 318is, had this problem and ended up it was due to 'dirty' idle valve assembly. This valve controlled the idle rpm by moderating the amount of air into the intake through a small tube from your main intake box. During idle, main valve in the throttle body is almost closed and the idle air intake will be from this valve.

I changed to a new idle valve due to malfunction, and indirectly solved this issue.

If you are a DIY man, remove this value to clean it...it will help.

Hope this help.

Re: Engine start up Issue

Hi,

could it be the ignition solenoid issue? i've a friend with the same problem (E36) then what he does was installed a start/stop button instead of using the ignition key.....so every time just press start to start the ride and after parking stop, that's all...

Hope this helps.....

Cheers
