Engine oil top up.

Hi guys, I'm driving a e90 2009 Bring More Worried. Today my car indicates me to top up for my engine oil at the sign of 1+, I've service my just b4 cny mid January. And my mechanic told me that this is normal! May I know how often u guys top up your engine oil? Pls advise. Thanks

I have a E90 323i and I top up 1 litre of engine oil maybe once every 4-5 months.. i drive average 20km per day. No sign of leak

2009 e90 318i have the same problem oso. But my workshop ppl's told that is normal.

Its only normal when you have external leaking seals or leaking engine oil into the engine via the worn gaskets or valve seals.

Had this problem and everyone said it was normal but to a stage of 1 litre every 3k km is ridiculous. After changing all the seals (visible from the engine bay) and as well as valve seals and valve cover gaskets, never had to top up again, the iDrive still show the same level as oil change 3 months back.
