Engine oil - Ace Syn

Hi everyone,

Just pass by this SPC petrol kiosk along Bukit Merah and they are offering the above oil to all at SGD 98. It was claimed that this oil is recommened and approved by BMW engineers (There was a letter signed by BMW engineers)

I need some one to help me to verify if this is true

Its more important that the oil meets the SAE rating...can't remember what is the lastest rating...its in the format of S(X) the higher the (X) means the better the rating.

Should be SJ or somthing by now.

Latest API rating is SM, SL still no problem for Euro4 engines. SJ is quite old liao.

I use the Syn Ace 50-5W engine oil. As smooth as Mobil 1 or Castrol RS. Only about $50 per bottle of 4L.
