Good day

Ride F10 523i
Just encountered this morning, pressed the ignition on switch followed by a second press to start, not able to start, battery should be fine as no fault on that, no other faults shown as well.
however DSC message appear about 2-3 times.
May I check if any brothers here faced such issue before ?

Starter motor can be easily changed ?
Thinking of getting from Stockist and replace it .
But still not sure if it’s the starter motor

the cranking sound still sounds normal and not weak though. Just the engine not able to start

Many apologies... maybe not detailed enough ...as I just left it in car park and left for work . Am gonna check it out again .

Nice picture but there's literally no way to tell without hooking up a diagnostic machine / software and scanning it. Could be a sensor could be 1000 other things related or unrelated. There's no good answer here unfortunately except for the obvious take it to a mechanic and have them look it over.
Get yourself a obd dongle and software like bimmerlink or carly which can tell you exactly whats wrong esp if you're considering holding onto this car for any length of time.

Thanks all brothers here and apology to post such a thread without much details.

diagnosed with DME failure and replace it already.

Will search for bimmerlink, Carly etc to hook up in the future

many many thanks

Mind if you post here where you got the DME replaced at with price ? Also which DME was replaced and why ?

Saw the diagnosis showing DME permanent failt, can’t be erased .
New DME oem set warranty 1 year

correct , SKM auto at first east Center

Ya. Used to and is still one Honda guru...

I did at 889 for svc once and spoke to Heng while
Waiting, he knows about BMW as well......so went back to him again.

Truthfully I have no idea. I'm just checking around in case it happens in the future. As long as you're OK with what you paid its all good. Warranty is another good to have
