Engine fault light came up

hi guys

my ride is a e93


the fault light came on, and the car like lost about 70% of the power that it's supposed to produce.
some of the symptoms are

- it loses power ( rev meter shows 5k, but power produced is like only at 2k ) and makes very faint noise
- car vibrate violently as im driving ( expressway and normal road )
- unable to select the right gear ( say i make a right turn, brake slightly and when back to straight, hit on the accelerator normally, the rev meter started to go up and down and car vibrated and fault light came on )


history

fuel injector was having problem, went to third party workshop and replaced the faulty fuel injector.

but the fault light keeps coming up....

did you go back to the workshop to double-check on this?
by the way what's your ride? N52 or N54 or N55?

Mines a e93 325

Not sure wats the engine model but...its a 2008 car...

Encountered the same prob. Was driving along the highway and suddenly my E60 lost power and go slow even when the accelerator was pressed hard. So no choice have to sheepishly followed behind a lorry on the slow lane. Went to the workshop. The mechanic changed all the spark plugs and that solved the prob. You may want to try this inexpensive remedy first.

Encountered the same prob. Was driving along the highway and suddenly my E60 lost power and go slow even when the accelerator was pressed hard. So no choice have to sheepishly followed behind a lorry on the slow lane. Went to the workshop. The mechanic changed all the spark plugs and that solved the prob. You may want to try this inexpensive remedy first.

i went to BOSS and got the spark plug changed, all 6.

the problem went away, but from time to time i still get the same icon....
but will be gone if i restart the engine

So what is the normal life span for our spark plug?

change all ignition coils if not replaced.

i went to BOSS and got the spark plug changed, all 6.

the problem went away, but from time to time i still get the same icon....
but will be gone if i restart the engine

Maybe problem with one of your Ignition coil..

Original BMW NGK is up to $100,000km.

Change all coils even 1 or 2 is faulty to save your future trouble as it cost about $35/pc. Borsch & easy to DIY.

Check your obc balance km.

I just gotten my e90 frm PML 4 days ago, driven only abt 300km, I have identical problems like yours. A sudden lost of engine power. It all started with jerks during pick up of speed in lower gear mode
Nw awaiting the servicing dept to rectify the prob.....
