Eaten driving vs drunk driving

Can you get busted for eating -

- drunken prawns
- paella
- drunken chicken
- beer batter
- Black Russian cake
- seafood stew

So if you eat all that and you get into a police stop and they smelled the alcohol when you burped. They make you do a test and there are traces of alcohol. And the white ant being the way they are - decides to bring you back to the station to be charged for drunk driving .........

What would you do ?

Say "Sir, all I did was eat .....never drink leh ...... got eaten driving law meh ?"

DUI = driving under influence

i don't think it's only about drinking. what if someone just smoke marijuana and intoxicated/high > driving > cause accident?
i wasn't drinking but smoking only as oppose to eating? hehe

back to the topic, if by eating those food and intoxicated ... then it's intoxicated based on the breathalyzer test

Re: Eaten driving vs drunk driving

Like that..... Those who eat poppy seed bagels 'ahem.... Atas food'..... Be warned.... If go for urine test.... Might kena false positive for marijuana user.....

Or if you guys are frequent vicks inhaler user..... Can be false positive for Amphetamine and methamphetamine.....

Cheerssssssssss..........

correct if i wrong but interpretation of law is 'driving while under influence of alcohol or intoxicated' covers all forms of ingestion whether direct or indirectly.

the charge in this instance will be 'driving while intoxicated or under influence of alcohol' n / or additional charge of 'inability to maintain proper control of vehicle.

our 'drink dont drive campaign' is mainly due to almost 95% of DUI or DWI being caused by drinking.

IMHO - eatin this list should not get one intoxicated unless one's alcohol tolerance is so low.

Eaten driving vs drunk driving

Another thing to point out - a person can also be charged with DUI, even if he is below the breathalyzer limit, the moment he causes an accident while driving as long as it can be proven that the slightest amount of alcohol is present in the blood.

Keeping that thought in mind, the human body is also able to absorb alcohol through the skin. This happens usually when alcohol based perfumes are applied, though these amounts are too small to affect the BAC levels.

Now, if the guy was having endless hours of the infamous "flaming ice cube" treatment at some lorong and house (all names shall be left unmentioned) prior to driving without imbibing a single drop of alcohol, I wonder if he might be in for a rude shock when the TP hauls him up for a blood test....

Re: Eaten driving vs drunk driving

Most alcohol will be gone in the cooking process when heat is involved, so shouldn't contribute much. But I like the way you think ;)

objection. speculation. trace of alcohol is fine. there is a prescribed level of alcohol that is equivalent to 2 units before you get canned.

Re: Eaten driving vs drunk driving

Maybe the prawns very big size and he ate a lot ?

to be more technically correct, you need to stick the bottle of vodka upside down (not pour) till its empty.
