E92 wheel offset ?

Hi,

Aware that the original 18" rim model 189 has

8J X 18 ET 34 (FRONT)
8.5J X 18 ET 37 (REAR)

Anyone know for the above setup, what is the maximum ET that ones can have so that the wheel align well with the car body and also no rubbing of wheel arch...

front ET max ?
Rear ET max ? for the above setup on 18" wheel

Thanks

Re: E92 wheel offset ?

Prof, U can just go down to Hurry/Leong Seng and try out their selection of spacers till u get something that u like. I guess a 12mm or 15mm spacer will push it all the way to the fender edge. Then u can roll ur fenders too.

Re: E92 wheel offset ?

I am running +32 F and +27 R. But some other E92/E93 owners are running more aggressively offsets.

What tyres you getting? 275 Rear? One major consideration here, given the shallow wheel well of E92/E93.......

Re: E92 wheel offset ?

woow another E92 owner, let me see the car must be Black.

Anyhow, it sounds like u wanna retain stock wheels n get an aggressive look. Yeah so as Sammy the Boy says just go get spacers. You can use the eye-ball technique, ie aga-aga, and see what spacers will help.

I also dont know what is my HRE offset, probably +28 all round.

Re: E92 wheel offset ?

Prof is sticking with his 189 stock rims so he'll be running the 255 rear setup.

Car's white with black interior. Only MANUAL 335i coupe in Singapore! GO PROF!

Congrats, Steven !!!

Now, Sam, go help him prepare for tiga-tiga-lima fraternity ceremony......

Re: E92 wheel offset ?

My mod anti-virus very strong......the Mrs

So I installed 15mm spacers at the back.....just perfect, no rubbing.

Re: E92 wheel offset ?

Acu, must remember that its 18x8.5J only. So width of the rim is smaller than the rest of us who are on 19x10J rear. So offset can be more aggressive.

Re: E92 wheel offset ?

Sam, ya you're right. I take back my words. 15MM ain't going be aggressive. 20MM maybe.

there is a different between the actual offset than adding spacer to the existing offset.

example, using his original 8.5J ET37

8.5J ET37 + 15mm spacer will have 15mm MORE inner clearance and 15mm MORE extended out to the body fender.

conclusion: using spacer will entirely push the 8.5J wheel 15MM outer to the fender.

so let's take Kenn rear offset,
10J ET27 will had 6 LESS inner clearance and 29mm MORE extended

conclusion: reducing offset but with wider width got extended more outer to the fender. almost 30MM closer to the fender. :yikess:

in the end with 15mm spacer it won't look as flush as Kenn's ride. maybe should consider 20MM.

You can use this LINK to calculate the offset before and after.

Re: E92 wheel offset ?

Hi all,

Thanks pal....very informative...

I keep to small wheel mainly because no $$ leow, also small wheel, less load, hopefully extra power...if there is .

If not, can not keep up with all the bros here with minimum of 580Nm...

Well for the stock RFT set ups n wheels, despite being 18 rather than those who changed to after mkt 19in, actually have more loads....

Congrats Steven...I see you quite often along Simei Road...honk ya if I see your white beast

Cheers
