Americans only play drag. Thats what they love. For me, its an advantage but totally disadvantaged in practically everything else from handling to high end power. The M3 will simply be better in corners and high speed. The 335 with an ECU tune will probably only be able to keep up with the M3 or even pass it when throttling out of a corner with its very good mid-end torque. But in the straights, it'll probably hang with you. I am referring to track driving. But in street driving, its really the one with more balls. Doesnt really matter which car you have honestly. A flat out modified 335 probably will probably beat the M3, but at a cost that probably makes more sense getting the M3. And of course, the problems that you may possibly face. Stock internals of N54 block to me seems to be at about 450hp. Anything more and you'll need to change a few things like injectors, rails, better cooling etc. Not really worth the trouble unless you are flat out.

E46 M3 sure can. E92 M3 wait long long. Anyway not fair comparison like what Jack said. Cars of different generation. Maserati GT, drivers race. As for the new GT, should be relatively easier as the cars heavy! and if you cut more weight on the 335, HO SEH.

please note a few guys here just bought their e92 m3.if i were them,i would be real pissed if lose to a 335.so forget about winning them (at least for the moment.)

only one maserati gt in singapore that i wanna beat.only one.it will be sweet.doing all my mods just for this one.

the 335 engine is a sweet sweet engine. torque same (almost) as m3 at a lower more usable range. only at higher revs and speeds will the m3 show it's true colours, but on sg roads there'll hardly be any opportunity. that's why i had such a hard time deciding which to buy at the time.

see how the rs4 and m3 are almost neck to neck initially, but the m3 pulls away at higher speed. of course the 4wd vs rwd and gearing etc. are factors.

but honestly, i for one won't be pissed if a modded 335 bro "chia" me. i'm still getting used to the first gear clutch release point, the shift from 1st to 2nd, and basically taking tender loving care of my baby. ha ha...
