I overheard people at kopi-tiam talking in between the Australia/Japan match hor...that after a while the tyres must swap front>back.

So for BMW, when must this be done huh?

U swap tyres between front and back so that the tyre last longer but I am not a follower of this theory.

The reason is that for our car, the front is usually running at 0.5 degree camber while the rear is running 1.0 to 1.5 degree camber.

Imagine if u run the car for 10,000km and the tyre has set in the camber, by changing the rear to the front, the tyre will effectively be tip-toeing and that is not the nicest thing when you need maximum contact for braking....

camber is when u adjust for the degree of negativity of the wheel, if u hv more negative camber your wheel will look like / \ from the front or rear view.

For street driving, it's set to slightly negative only and that is pretty much from the factory..However, as u drop your ride , the car will dial in more negative camber naturally and it max out at certain degree unless you buy adjustable camber plates which allow the adjustment to as much as 3.5-4 degree. The latter is for track set up.
