E90 temp light came on and off

hi pals,

i having problem with my e90 2007 model, recently i drive my car out of sudden the temp light came yellow colour then few sec change to red colour awhile more it go off by itself, i like worried so i bring over to WS at amk auto point to do the pressure test and find out that my pipe does not leaks and the guy told me it engine too hot.

got anyone having same issue like me.

Read the fault code ........ And then check your water pump and thermostat for good measure .....

Have a look at the other temp readings as well ..... should be quite clear what's going on after that.

If your WS can't tell you what is the error code, time to change to another WS..

overheating normally is due to some faulty parts in the overall cooling system. Not difficult to diagnose.

Of cos it is due to engine overheated. What a stupid statement from your WS. Its like saying, I came bcos I was coming.

Usually it's the other way round - over heating blows the head gaskets ......

Better find the root cause of the overheating or more things might blow up ......

I am guessing it's due to the cooling system like the radiator choke or thermostat.
Please have it solved soon and let us know the problem.
Over heating damages the engine badly.

I have send my car to wecare ws in malaysian for replace the radiator and thermostat and since then i everyday morning will open the expansion tank and monitor and always in max lvl. Until today when i drive my car on my way to work. Out of sudden the coolant light light out yellow again and i try to drive slowly for about 10sec it went off by itself. After that i parked my car and wait for about 30min then i open the expansion tank and found out it empty again just like last time.

I have send my car to wecare ws in malaysian for replace the radiator and thermostat and since then i everyday morning will open the expansion tank and monitor and always in max lvl. Until today when i drive my car on my way to work. Out of sudden the coolant light light out yellow again and i try to drive slowly for about 10sec it went off by itself. After that i parked my car and wait for about 30min then i open the expansion tank and found out it empty again just like last time.

Encountered this problem for a period of time personally, if you have replaced the cooling system parts and still e same then will leakage of head gasket. you might encounter problems in starting your car in the morning too. good luck bro.

I dun have problem on the morning when i start the car. I have to the pressure test on the engine and it look fine. When i was driving i lock on my car engine temp and i notice is around 98 to 115 and one time it heat up to 118c. I believe when it heat to 120c then the expansion tank spilled out the coolant

Your engine n54 ?

If n54 very normal.......

No my is 320i. I just go back wecare to replace my Thermostat as the ws told me maybe it that faulty again. Recently i monitor my car the temp is at 110-113 normally and sometime if i drive hard it will go to 117 then very fast drop back to 110 again. Can anyone driving 320i tell me his normal temp is @ how many degree. Thx alot

That kind of temp I thought you have N54 .......

N46 is below 107 ......
