E90 smoke coming out of bonnet.....
To add to RBBro's advice, if the ws diagnoses the problem as the VCG and agrees to help you re-do it for FOC, make sure the ws checks the VCG rubber for micro-tears. If it was new when they first installed it and leaking after only a few months, sounds like they screwed up the original job and cut the rubber. The VCG is like a condom for the engine, you wouldn't want to put back one that already has holes in it.
If the problem is the VCG and they refuse to do it FOC and charge you for it, my advice is to go elsewhere. These guys probably CMI and will likely screw it up again.
Whichever ws you choose eventually, get them to check the vacuum pump seal as well. It's a common task job and might as well replace it with the valve cover out of the way. Of course, a good BMW ws would not need to be prompted to check that.
The purpose of this forum is for us to share so that others don't have to suffer the hard and expensive way. Our rides are fantastic but the people who maintain them make a hell of a difference. Those who curse and swear (incl me last time!) at their rides probably never got a good ws, esp when they first got the ride. Anyway, good luck!
