Re: E90 Reviews on I forged rims

I cant comment on iforge or dpe rims, but I can offer u some insight into my experience with BBS rims. I had a set of 18inch RXIIs 2 piece BBS rims on my 2000 323Ci. Drove my car several times a year to KL, was even based in KL for 3 years and the rims soaked up every pothole and highway crack without buckling or cracking. Amazing wheels. The ball polished spokes and polished lips looked great even after 3.5years when I sold the car. Only weak part were the centre caps which had a tendency to come loose after taking them off for changing tyres. I think that particular rim model was made in Japan. Pity BBS rims dont have a strong agent here.

Re: E90 Reviews on I forged rims

buy HRE or VIP Modular.... then again...build quality of 3 piece american forged rim is always not consistent.. imho.... sometimes can be good sometimes can be bad....

get japanese rims like volk.... quality guaranteed.... or try to stick to single piece wheels like NEEZ...

if all else fail.... read my signature :)

ya i do agreed BBS looks good, i went to south east to look at RS GT. They quoted me quite a high price with no certainty when it will arrive and no deeplips. :(

Thanks , HRE is way too expensive. Volk racing only the grade A will fit E93 and it not aggressive with deep lips.

In the end i might just buy

For 3-Series :
BMW PML
Radial Spoke Forged Wheel Styling 190
Comes with Bridgestone Runflat Tyres:
8 X 19 front
9 X 19 rear
Special Price: $8,289.53

Usual Price: $10,995.64

:(

Re: E90 Reviews on I forged rims

Bro, for that price I seriously think you should go with aftermarket brands.

Reason 1: Extremely hard to re-sell based on the sole fact that it is still a BMW wheel

Reason 2: I'm pretty sure those wheels are gonna be heavy as hell

Reason 3: Forking out over 8k will already have opened up almost all doors of the aftermarket wheel section!!

Bro, it is damn stressful searching for rims, Been all over the place, Yap bros, Leong seng, Rays , South east , I forged , DPE, HRE too expensive ( Wife will slaughter me ). Lastly wife is already complaining i spend too much time searching for wheels, procede, brakes, exhaust, bodykits. :screwedu:

I'm trying to ask PML for the weight , this model is suppose to be Monoblock Forged too. will update you guys, by the way, 6 series rims are awesome but they cant fit E92 :(

Yo bro, i found out the weight for this BMW forged rims are 12.7Kgs only. Offset for rear is 39.

Cheerios.

Re: E90 Reviews on I forged rims

12.7kg for a forged wheels isn't light at all. I bet BBS cast will be lighter. for 19" you should be looking it the low 11-10KG for 19"x9.5 if its forged.

with this quotes you should be getting run-flat tires, as many know run-flat its almost 50% more expensive compare to normal tires. try ask PML that you're getting wheels only and shop your tires outside, unless you like run-flat for safety reason.

Check BBS website, the weight is around 22 to 24 IBS around 10kgs, i dont mind BBS RS-GT but the local agent is not very strong.

He says he dont know the size and price until the stocks comes in after christmas.

I think they only have front 19/8.5 , they do not have 19/9.5 for the rears.

This is frustrating, maybe i just dont change keep the stocks, it is so bloody troublesome.

Cheerios:(

I think u probably spoke to Ah Ming at Southeast Tyres right? Need to speak with Ah Hoe, he is more familiar with the rims and requirements. I got the 18" staggered RS-GT rims with Eagle F1 tyres on my ride. Somehow they feel much lighter than my OEM 16" with runflats. I have not actually weigh the 2 wheels but psychologically it probably feel lighter after spending so much on the rims :nehnehhh:

Re: E90 Reviews on I forged rims

another suggestion if u want reasonable good quality deep dish nice rims will be opting for japanese bling brand , jap made rims quality has always been better overall then american made imho...less complaints...

try brands like : lowenhart , NKB , trafficstar , racinghart , club linea, auto couture

I-forged is also out they quoted me 27Ibs = 12 over kgs.

Autovoxs quoted me SGD2600 per piece of BBS RS-GT weight around 9kgs. It is same price as HRE? Funny thing is another dealer quoted me total of 7500 for the same rims. your guess is the same as mine.

I will try hyper forged and schmeiden then. thanks

i have already checked this out with Yap and stamford, it is confirm it is not deep dish. It not even close. maybe 3cm lip only.

:(

For new 3 series
8.5J with +31 offset ( front set up ) u get 4.1cm
9.5J with +25 offset ( rear set up ) u get 6.1cm

altenatively for a more conservative set up
8.5J with +37 offset , u get 2.9 cm
9.5 J with +31 offset, u get 4.8cm
