Hi Guys,

I would like to set up this thread so that all those who have renewed their beloved e90 coe can gather here and share tips, problems and resources.

I have just changed my front and rear shocks and all the rubber mountings etc. For those who are keen to change to boge shocks (stiffer ride compared to the original shock), here are the parts number and price as of dec 2015:

32-L35-A Boge 3131 6 786 005 absorber F.LH x 1 piece $105
32-L36-A Boge 3131 6 786 006 absorber F.RH x 1 piece $105
2700101 LMI 3133 6 769 582 absorber mounting x 2 piece $35 = $70
3133 6 771 352VEMBE Vember absorber sponge F x 2 piece $12 = $24
3133 1 094 749 BMW absorber dust cover F x 2 piece $7.50 = $15
3133 6 764 372 BMW spring pad (B) x 2 piece $3.50 = $7
3133 6 767 500 BMW spring pad (T) x 2 piece $3.50 = $7
32-L41-A Boge 3352 6 771 725 absorber RR x 2 piece $90 = $180
26877 Febi 33536 767 334 absorber sponge x 2 piece $16 = $32
3350 6 771 737 BMW guide support upper x 2 piece $20 = $40
3350 6 771 738 BMW guide support lower x 2 piece $20 = $40
3352 6 768 544 Boge absorber mounting x 2 piece $25 = $50

Those who are anal about changing everything can also change
3353 6 764 420 Spring Pad RR.(B) which is $8 x 2 piece but the workmanship is $140 as they need to remove different parts of the car.

I have also changed my thermostat housing, water pump, top hose and bleeding hose because the water pump is leaking. I used two bottles of BMW anti freeze coolant too.

10893 KWP 1151 7 511 221 water pump $70
1151 7 572 859 BMW thermostat housing $60
1712 7 531 768 BMW Top Hose $95
1712 7 565 092 BMW Vent hose w/ plastic pipe $45
1151 7 542 128 BMW connector 1 piece $22
1153 7 572 159 BMW Water hose 1 piece $32
8351 2 355290 BMW coolant anti-freeze 1.5l x 2 bottles $12 = $24

Decided to change my bonnet and boot damper. (You can DIY)

966-9ZC Stabilus 5123 7 060 550 Bonnet damper x 2 pieces x $20 = $40
034-249 Stabilus 5124 7 250 308 Lid damper x 2 pieces x $26 = $52

Replaced my front and rear brake back to the original BMW brake set completely.

3411 6 854 997 BMW brake disc F x 2 piece $95 = $190
3411 6 769951 BMW brake pad F(T4190) 1 set $115
212034 GST 3435 6 789 439 brake sensor F $12
34219 808 172 BMW brake pad RR w/clip 1 set $95
212035 GST 3435 6 789 445 brake sensor RR 1 piece $12
3421 6 855 002 BMW brake disc RR x 2 piece $80 =$160

Computerised wheel alignment after the shocks set in. $70

The workshop also did a car wash, vacuum and engine bay wash for free after the works has been completed. A big thumbs up from me. (Please note that I am not affiliated with the workshop, this is also my first experience with this workshop after using the well known BMW shops for a long time.) Please continue to use your own workshop.

To be continued....

Hope you guys can share your e90 revamp experience too.

Depending on which model you get..320,323,325 i guess all have different numbers..

Re: E90 renewed COE Owners Corner

How about possible major concerns of renewing COE and keeping the car through 10 years:
- major parts breaking down, eg: gearbox, engine requiring overhaul, etc. What are the biggest risk items?
- is it possible to get comprehensive insurance coverage? heard insurance companies will only offer 3P liability coverage?

ntuc , Aviva and Axa offers comprehensive insurance.

Re: E90 renewed COE Owners Corner

Thanks...what are the potential killer replacements, besides gearbox and engine overhaul? these are deal-breakers so question is how likely and how much costs.....
