E90 Rattle Sound behind seat near area

Hi Expert here,

Recently I have face some rattle sound cracking/ticking sound on/off on my back seat near to the centre area of the third brake light to the door area.
Have been searching the web to look for an solution, mostly they comment the rattle sound is came from the rubber seal
on the door flame, I have apply silicon on it but is still rattle. mine is a non foldable rear seat.

Anyone encounter this issue....

Try pulling the passenger seat belt buckle up into the seat belt buckle holder. The buckle holder is a piece of black plastic, near the passenger head rest area.

I have some rattling sound behind the passenger seat (place where most used to mount their co-axial speakers) sometimes too..

For quite awhile liao, still can't identify what exactly is loose.....

I have encounter the same rattling sound underneath my passenger seat for a few weeks. It is especially obvious when I turn corners but it has since stopped for about a week now, very strange...

Actually I have try some of the method but still cannot figure out where the sound come from. I try to dismantle the back cover of the speaker, the 3rd brake light, the back pillar with the Air Bag logo, put rubber tape at the side of the back seat near to the door area, even spray WD40 on the door hinge and spray silicon into the seat belt buckle holder. Now I am thinking on how to dismantle the whole seat to check and the a piece of plastic near the rear glass.

I do encountered intermittent sound around there too but unable to identify where it comes from.

I think yours is different from what TS is saying.

TS is saying the rattle comes while moving straight on road and highway, when the road uneven, the car starts to have this rattle sound coming from dunno where... Very irritating if your radio is off and the sound becomes obvious.. I also have this rattle sound and also cannot tell from where.. Haha... My wife says from right hand side I hear from Left Hand side... Lol...

Anyway, your sound is like some marble rolling?? I got this sound also last time and did some research online.. Finally what I did was I used those Wire type of Clothes hanger and open it up. Then stick a double side tape and the tip and dig for stuff that dropped into the Air Vents under ur seats.

I initially used magnet, but remember coins are not magnetic and it might be some other stuff... mine was a plastic clip from under the side door cover that the mech dropped in and kept quiet...

Thank bro for your info,

You mean is under the driver seat below? I will check it up tomorrow and update u all the finding. This afternoon I have try to insert some drinking water straw into the rear air vent in between the air vent and the rear glass to prevent it from vibration that may create rattle. Also insert a felt tape in between the air vent area. Somewhere where my previous first picture which 2 arrow pointing. Hopefully it can reduce some rattle.

Finally I find out that the rattle is from the rear parcel shelf where the speaker is mounted. Just try to press down the parcel shelf, and see whether if there any tick tick to tot tot sound. I try mine, there is a tick tot sound when I press on one side of the speaker area and I try to press the other side of the speaker, there is no sound at all and it have a solid feel. So I use force to press down the noisy side parcel shelf and insert rubber tape into it, and really most of the noise is gone. You can only hear very light tick noise on and off only, most of the time is gone. Read from others forum, it seen like quite common in E90.

I am looking to sell my UltraRacing Front and Rear Roll(Sway) bars. They were only installed on my car for a week before I took them off. Reason is because I found the ride too firm for my liking. I think someone who goes to the racetrack or drives more aggressively might appreciate them. I got them from the authorised Singapore distributor E-Rev Motorsports for $700 with receipt to proof. Below is how I get rid of my rattle noise, now more quiet ride as I hardly heard any rattle from the back. For (Rattle Picture 1) you can actually dismantle pillar C with the Air Bag logo to insert the rubber tape nicely. For me I just simply insert here and there to attack the noise first. Another important point need to highlight is refer to (Rattle picture 3). You must be very carefully and ensure that the rattle noise is come from the centre of the parcel shelf, if not you might have problem to take out the Tennis ball after inserting into it.
