E90 M3 Saloon Facelift Differences

Does anyone know what the differences are in the facelift?

The facelifted ones can be identified by the new tail llights with a slight "L" shape and the loss of the large white area in the tail lamp unit.

But are there mechanical differences? I do notice that the facelifted cars get the newer smaller i drive controller and not the older all brushed aluminum one.

Tried searching on the net but there seems to be very little covering the topic

facelift e90 (M3) has a bit wider rear wheel base...supposed to improve handling;
new multi button idrive with hard disk storage 80GB...store MP3 songs; new LED tail lights; nothing else..

Awesome thanks! Do you know when the original sedan was introduced and when the facelift appeared? Am under the impression that the facelift happened around a year after the E90 M3 was first introduced. Is that correct?

first facelifted e90 M3 production started around sept '08 and deliveries around end of the year. the original sedan i believe is about Nov'07... there was one manual e90 M3 pre-facelift journalist/test car registered feb'08 so ball park dates for when production started.i am pretty sure on facelift dates.

That sounds spot on (the dates I mean). Amazing how little literature there is on the facelift and the differences. Guess it happened so quick that there was little to talk about! And certainly BMW is not going to launch the facelift M3 saloon with much fanfare given whoever bought in the first year would be rather annoyed about the quickness of the update

BTW, looking at your nick, am guessing you drive an M3? If so, mind me asking which version?

Saw a white SJS68** one in my ofc CP 2 days in a row already... no roadtax disc, v sneaky.

As in a E90 M3? or was it a coupe or cab? The only one I know of is the ex demo silver blue manual which performance premium took 6 months to finally flog off for a very reasonable 228k

Just get it? Have to think hard la...
