E90 - Funny Sound From The Brake

I just got my 325i(E90) with steptronic tramission 2 weeks ago and i found out there a some weird sound (THUD...THUD..THUD) coming out form the brake. I already send back to the service center and they told me there is no problem on my brake cause the sound actually comes from the soft stoping and all the E90 & E60 comes with the soft stoping had this same sound problem....

Does anyone of you guys or gal has the same problem like mine? I am starting to get piss :furious: i hope to get some answer or help from some guys or gal out there......:woowooo:

sorry i forgot to mention the weird sound only appear when the car comes to a slow stop, especialy in the trafic jam

I have the same prob with my 523.

When i brought it up to the PML TAs they told me its "normal". I told them it cannot be because I have not noticed or heard it in any of the other 523s i have sat in.

But anyway I had no time to leave it with them for diagnosing the prob. I am planning a showdown with them shortly.

If you are keen we can meet up to see if we have a similar problem.

what kind of sound? can you elaborate further? u mean u can hear it from inside?

Did you bed in the brakes properly? Is this needed for a new car? I'm not too sure..

i dont think if the brakes not bedded properly will give this kinda sound thou

I think what your are hearing is sort of like a 'ernk' sound (when the brake pads are gripping the disc) usually heard as you come to a full stop. That sound is common for quite a few bmw models. Changing pads and disc wont eradicate that.. Small irritant for an effective braking system.

Yup it's a 'emrk' sound on my e60 too.

What i dont understand is why is this not heard on the other e60s i have tried ?

Yeah.. I can hear it inside of my car and i really think there is a big problem with my braking system cause last weekend i drove into K.L my car went crazy when i floor the brake. It doesnt like the normal ABS kick-in but the damm car yank to different position(left, right, left-several times) like total out off control......

yap, i have this sound problem too. especially when u tap a bit release a bit while ur vehicle is slow or static. anyway i managed to live with it liao... last time my very old 320 also have this problem... i thought it is meant to be like that...

atlast i manage to get then to change my entire rear portion of my braking system on next week. i will keep you guys infrom once i had the braking system re-place
