after i park my car and remove the key, i can still hear a clicking sound from the car going on for at least 10 minutes. the sound is at interval say 10 to 15 seconds. any of u encounter this? :yikess: is that a problem with the car?
yes outside the car. the sound is "click" "click" "click" ... i suspect it is engine cooling down but though it is quite loud as i dont hear this from other cars. maybe i am ignorant ...
ya, i didnt hear this with my previous jap rides too...thot was something wrong too initially, until someone tells me is the engine/ metal parts cooling down...actually come to think of it, it is quite loud and how come jap rides dont click like that haha
actually besides the clicking sound, if you sat in the car for about 5mins after you stop the engine, you'll hear some motor winding sound too, much like closing your wing mirrors electronically. or is it only my ride?
lol.. how come the CD player gets involed in it? i experienced it once with my e36 before.. after i shut off the engine and it goes click.... click... click.... i dont knw what's the noise and i went home.. too tired to think abt it.. but i guess its ok.. the next day everything seems normal and i dont hear it anymore..
apparently it's the different materials used in your engine, they have different cooling rates, which cause the sound.. there's an old thread on this as well.. which i'm too lazy to dig up...
Heard these clicking noise too but I am not concern at all. I heard it in my VW before too when it was new..... then.... so used to it you don't bother about it at all....

you hang around a bit more... your car will transform into an autobot! but the trick is you have to be really quite. They don't usually do that unless nobody is around....:nehnehhh:
i have this problem too. i thought the ticking sound could be coming from the engine oil dripping on the oil pan when the pistons have stop moving after the engine is turned off, therefore didnt really bother much about it. :smack:
