E90 can track maximum speed?

Got a relative in pretty bad medi condition n need to go up North this weekend. To deal with the usual annoying TP there who may accused BENG of speeding when not, would like to ask if there is any indicator in the E90 that can track the max speed since you last ignited the engine?

Re: E90 can track maximum speed?

Although excessive speeding is strongly discouraged, it is possible. You just need a long and fairly straight road. It just takes a while to reach top speed.

Also, the speedometer should show inflated values (e.g. it shows 200km/h, but in reality, you're travelling at 195km/h). In either cases, at such speeds, if anything goes wrong (touch wood!), it doesn't matter what marque you're driving, the damage will be anything but mild. Not all stretches of road are suitable for high speed so the experience really comes in here.

Please drive carefully - at most, you'll be slower by 20-30mins but you'll arrive safe and sound!

wah.... just for conversational sake....

if u travel straight all the way without break(highway-highway) on the N-S.... and we assume its 350km at constant speed

1. at 120km/h will take u 2.92hrs

2. at 140km/h 2.5hrs

3. at 180km/h 1.95hrs

4. at 200km/h 1.75hrs ( tat's 105mins ah!!! - a length of a typical movie ) :yikess: :yikess:

wah... but watever it is ... ahBeng.... dont speed unneccessarily.... reach there safely for ur relative...

have a safe but easy breezily drive!!! :)

Beng, your car build for driving in the autobahn one lah, extended high speed driving is not supposed to be a problem but some perculiar road condition, traffic condition and off course the speed traps are of concern.

As pg7170 mentioned, between 120 and 200 km/h is slight more than 1 hours differences if you do the 350 stretch non-stop. I've followed some "siao" convoy leader where I have to open up close to the 200 mark and the car goes smoother than it was in the 150~160 range.

Personally, I find the 120 speed pretty nice and easy and really less stressful for driver... and well, you do get sleepy after a while, hence I'll stop for a snack, kopi and face wash. The ultimate goal is the reach your destination safely and the journey enjoyable. Do some minor planning and preparation before you embark and work in some safety/emergency factor if you're able to.

Start by planning the time you need to get there.. and when you need to arrive and work backwards with margins for stoppages. Have the car checked/service and replace any old consumable parts that are about reaching their expected life span (you don't want them to fail on you halfway). Check with pple who frequent such journey for additional tips like what are the good hours (less traffic) and some comprehension of malays an advantage if you need to seek help along the way.

If an experienced "Hia Dee' is able to come along, that would bring you some peace of mind. Enjoy your drive and we wait to hear your report. Also, best wishes to your relative and hope he/she will get well before you arrive.

Re: E90 can track maximum speed?

think a lot of bros don't get it still...
beng is not asking how to beat e police if he exceeds the speed limit...
but how to beat e police when they accuse him of speeding, when he has not...
well like what Radon39 had said..and I had experienced before..tell e bugger you were on cruise control, and "challenge" him...he probably will back off...

Re: E90 can track maximum speed?

kam sia cock wee Hia-dee for yr wonderful comments.

I hv passed my boy racer days. Being a senior citizen, I drive 'slow' these days :) I hv relatives in Johor, Malacca, Klang. I used to be a frequent driver up North, just that I ve not gone up there for a NONG NONG time for a variety of reasons.

I just thought it would be useful to know if the car is able to retrieve info on its max speed for each trip, rather than just average speed. Then if kena stopped by TP can just show them the info, of cos they may still talk this n that. I could part with RGT$50 easily n tell them to farg-off, but I just sometimes cant stand their actions. Sometimes u gotta deal with these arses in a way more gui-lan than them. Frankly I know how to deal with the TPs up there in terms of kopi $$. I grew up as a kid where my dad who is a Malacca-ian goes to/fro his hometown n SG almost every month. I ve seen enuf of their tricks, n my relatives up there also tell me their fair share of stories. But I am just out of touch so to speak having not been up there for so long ...oh I mean NONG.
