E90 325i vs 987 Boxster 2.7

Guys, any thoughts on changing a 4 yrs old E90 to a Boxster?

I know it's not really an apples to apples comparison - have been thinking of what will be the next car for some time already. Have no commitments, no family to ferry around etc, but need to transport golf clubs. Operating and capital costs etc (apart from insurance) are similar for both.

I'm also told the Porker's build quality is bullet-proof so it could be a car I can run till the COE expires. The E90 has served me very well the past few years, but was told to expect the bigger bills to come by the 6th year / 100,000 km mark.

The Porky would be ideal as a second car....but too bad can't afford to have two! So I'm not sure whether it will be a big compromise.

The E90's served me very well and has been a bit under appreciated and taken for granted cos it's pretty common on the roads. A bit reluctant to let go!

Heh thanks for the suggestion... i did consider a used 335i coupe before the prices went nuts... but still felt like i wasn't really changing car - the interior all looks so similar. Quite sure the lack of torque will be quite evident in the 325i cab...

I suppose one should have a roofless car at least once in his lifetime :)

Get the porsche but wait for the new one.

Or get a year old one ( couple in the market ). Must get one with PDK.

Join PCS for their drives. Enjoy

yeah, will probably have to be the front seat. it's not going to be a popular decision with friends :)

I think the rear hatch can take loose clubs. The Cayman looks like it take can a bag or two in the hatch.

hmm... the eurokars guy tua me! although it looked like they could sort of be placed vertically in the hatch, leaning against the headrests.

have to say that the interior makes my current car feel very luxurious. the newer PDK models look very different inside.

I guess if i can't get a decent price for my car, might just hold this off for now so that i can look at PDK models when the time comes. Wonder if can get used to no GPS, ipod interface, idrive etc...
