E90 320i PFL Air Intake Manifold

[BMW-GK]

Hi Bro,
For E90 320i PFL.

Anyone modified the air intake manifold, I found that there is only 1 air inlet to the air filter, the other is dummy.
Anyone mod it to 2 inlet ? any different in low end and high end ?

This is the part number... 13717560918 (the one with the BMW logo on it)

Don't think it will improve anything ...... And the whole chamber is a dummy as well not just the inlet.

FYI - That's not the intake manifold in the pic.

no point to modify ... in fact ... can't be modified
why take the trouble to modify
just install simota v2 (gruppem style) intake ... this product probably discontinued liao ... but still can find in ebay or taiwan/china motoring website or ask local workshop to order from taiwan
anyway, been there done that and i feel e90 best intake is stock airbox + KNN air filter
very very little effect (only at NSH on highspeed) but the sound is good

Or will the 323i/325i manifold fit on 320i? good to have more air in. ha.

Don't think can gain any hp with drop-in lah, hoping to get a smoother ride nia.

Choose filters carefully. Know how many microns is stock and use it as a benchmark the filter you are looking at.

Did some research on this a year back - K&N filter hole is lagi big. That's a lot of dirt getting into the engine when using K&N filters.

For NA engines - IMHO, you have more than enough air going in via the stock filters.

Turbo engines if boosted would justify the need for performance filters in certain conditions.

During vy low rpm driving/picking up, quite often there are very obvious vibrations for about 1-2 secs like insufficient combustion & i thought that's because the intake not smooth/breathing properly.. Hence looking at options to reduce the vibrations at low end.

Or it's due to some other problems..?

Good filter 300-400.
Engine overhaul 1500-3000.

I go for option 1 anytime.

It's some other problems ..... And could be a combination of issues.

I suspect u're referring to open pod huh? Wouldn't that kills the low end when it's breathing hot air from the engine bay?

Can fit also no use. U will need ECU to operate 2 stage DISA.

323 got only 1 stage DISA.
