E82 help thread

Hi guys... noticed there isn any E82 thread for us here...so i hope to start one and get all the help i need and maybe help someone else too

1. Trying to find a nice rims for my E82 - atm am considering DOTZ Tupac but waiting for E82 compatible to come...anyone know where i can view rims in SG? or a good website or order from?

2. Exhaust - considering Aqray SS or Tit / BMW Performance / Active Autoworkz..anyone any comments on them? besides BMW Performance...i think Aqray and AA is not LTA compliance right? what other brand good to consider? which website good to order from if i want AA or Maddad?

3. Intake - considering GruppeM...just a waste of money? or really good? most ppl in forum says its a waste of money....

Anyway...anyone know of any other coilovers besides KW v3? was told need to wait abt 4-6weeks...don feel like waiting so long

(1) Wheels - I am biased, so I shall not comment.

(2) Exhaust - if compliance is a concern, not many brands available. I like the Arqray's tone, but you have to choose carefully between quads and twin to fit your rear diffuser.

(3) CAI - I am running Gruppe M, but the CF design could not shield the heat from the engine bay from heating up the air, so you might as well save $$$ and buy something like the open pod AFE.

1. give me ur bias opinions on wheels i saw the Tupac and i think it look nice...some friends recommended Advan but when i saw it...doesn look nice

2. should be going for twin...at the moment...probably aqray ss...but was told still might need to change difffuser coz the hole not big enuff and if cut will be ugly

3. Open pod AFE get from where? any link for me to read on? was told gruppeM allow more air so better?

4. Know who have ready stock for KW v3? if not..any comparable coilovers with short leadtime?

Wheels - if you are going for 18"s, dun not get modular lipped wheels. Even 19"s lipped wheels look just about right on the 1er:

19in Brushed S20 Steplip
19in Blackedout R16

Get the monoblocks. [Unfortunately, DPE does not carry 18" for monoblock MT series.]

1. U may want to consider this..it has perfect fitment for your car in staggered config.. It came out too bit later after I got my Volk RE30
This one is cast but very sporty looking...I saw one set at Leong Seng 2mths ago but think gone now.. It's Volk Racing 57Motorsport series , model name is G07WT..


2. Exos.....yes u hv to think bout your aero kit etc....

3. Open pod for our weather is bad and the heat trap in your engine bay will result in the engine breathing hot air. That adversely affects the performance. I think stay with stock box and change some filer. If GruppeM cant shield the heat properly then might as well stay with the stock box coz after all the former just becomes cosmetics.

4. Think no short lead time for suspension. I was lucky enuf to get a set of CROSS coilover from J4C when it was on display so just paid it.

1. can consider OZ Alleggerita. should have 18 inch staggered fitment for E82 i think..

yeah decent rims too, simple design but strong and light weight.
currently have em as my track rims
