e60: Water droplets drop on seat when door opened

Hi guys!
Need some help urgently!
I have an E60 523 LCI.
Whenever i open the 2 back door of my cars after rain or after washing the car, Big fat water droplets drip onto my back seats and the door seals are also wet.

Is it normal for it to happen?
thanks:)

Hi heerajs,

I drive the same E60 but do not experience the problems you are having.
Perhaps you should inform your SE about it?

Re: e60: Water droplets drop on seat when door opened

door seals will surely be wet...but to the extent that droplets drop on the seats... maybe ur seals are not properly placed

Re: e60: Water droplets drop on seat when door opened

I complained to them but they said that its perfectly normal for the water to drop on the seats because of the shape of the car.

I am not accepting their reason and have refused to collect the car back till they rectify the problem.
THey are even providing me with a letter to say that it is normal.

So far with all the cars my family has owned this is the 1st time we re experiencing such a thing and they say its normal with all cars.

If it is any consolation, I have the same problem with my E60.

I just use my hand and wipe the seat before sitting in the car.

well, if the car door was closed properly during rain or washing, the water should drip into the gap between the seals and down it goes....shouldn't be into the car interior

Re: e60: Water droplets drop on seat when door opened

Hi collected my car from PML today!
Apparently it seems that the water gets on the seat because of the design of the car as unlike other bmw cars, the e60 has no drainage near the door seal area to lead the water away and i really wonder why!

Wont it like cause the leather to get spoilt over time??

Re: e60: Water droplets drop on seat when door opened

mate, you are massively over reacting. It may spil the leather if you leave the window open for 5 years and never clean up the water.

I cant think of any car where if it is raing or after just being washed if a door is open water will always drip inside. I think since like maybe 1990., no cars had drip rails on the roof, thats why. Ive lost count of how many times my lap gets wet with the window down, even after using the washer spray.

take a deep breath and dont worry about such small details

No bro thanks for the suggestion but i think i will leave it this way cause adding a visor in my opinion would look ugly.
