Hi guys just wna source out more info on coolant leaks. 2 days ago low coolant checklight appeared. At first I thought it was genuinely low coolant so I still drove the car till today when I wanted to refill my coolant tank I realized that there was a leakage. Pour water in straight away leak out from below till the ground. Recently just change water pump only, anything related? And also its weird that ive been driving for 2 days wo coolant and no overheating checklight or smoke from engine... (touchwood) pls advise.

If water come straight out should be simple matter to trace source of leak - could be your coolant tank or radiator (?)

Wads the cost to replace?

Bring to site sponsor ...... No hoist hard to see from below ..... The coolant when leaking leaves obvious traces - the coolant is design that way.

Don't think it's the expansion tank though - if that cracks, it's over in minutes. Sounds like a slow leak, since it was depleted in days ......

Go to a site sponsor that has distilled water and g48 complaint coolant .....

Re: e60 coolant leak!!

last year my expansion tank tore open... everything out...

I replaced tank + water pump + flush radiator + new coolant

forgot costs .. shld be less than $800...

using those "colored" coolant help to trace the leak, best to get a workshop to find the leak
normal problems encounter with cooling system is:

1. cap for reservoir tank kaput
2. reservoir tank spoil
3. oil exchanger for cooling of transmission kaput

#3 is most costly as the water can get mixed with the transmission fluid and become a lousy affair! damn difficult to flush it away and when water mixed with oil, it will spoil almost every rubber seal you can think of.
