E60 and E46 rims

Someone pelase explain to me why and E60 rim won't fit an E46. I know it's offsets, but I have seen an E46 with M5 rims in Singapore. Can spacers work? Can I machine the wheel hub to the correct offset? There must be a way.

Jack?
Ken?

Re: E60 and E46 rims

Hey Phil,

Its all about the offsets for sure, since the PCD is the same. The E46s with M5 rims are replicas! M5 design but fits E46s.

Cheers!

Re: E60 and E46 rims

In addition to offset issue...
It's also the bore diameter....5-er has bigger diameter, bout 2mm than those of 3-er ( need adapter ring which is easily customisable )

So, in summary...real E60 wheels CANT be fitted onto E46 at all

Re: E60 and E46 rims

Bloody fascists, make wheels that cant fit the same car manufacturer.

the bore diamater isnt a problem, most wheels come with that adapter ring

Sam, so M5 style, but for an E46 you say? Wonder where i can get them

Re: E60 and E46 rims

Thanks Sam

if i was buying new rims, i would buy DPE

I want second handies

Re: E60 and E46 rims

get DPE......it is a good rims....do it once and u will not need to change rims....

Re: E60 and E46 rims

i know, but not for this car.

I have other plans for DPE rims (evil laugh)

Re: E60 and E46 rims

not really, those rims are meant for a better car than a E46

so, i'll wait and see what i end up with back home. Probably just an XR6 or XR8, but a killer one. But then again, i have a fetish for Chev pickups, particularly duallys.

Re: E60 and E46 rims
