E60 air con issues

hope any ex/ current owners can shed some light.

My e60 (LCI) compressor takes a while to activate. When I switch on the car the fan will be blower but the air is not cold.

This symptoms tend to happen more often when I didn't drive for 24hrs. And the waiting time for the compressor to kick in also varies depending on whether is it a hot or cooling day. Sometimes it took almost 10mins which makes things really unbearable.

I hope any past/ current users can shed some light so that I can be prepared when I send in my car for official repairs.

Usually its either compressor is spoilt or there is leaking air con gas somewhere in the closed system. Previously i changed mine for about S$1k. Just be prepared for it.

Can check if anyone have this symptom of having sound heard after travel over uneven ground. Switch off Aircon sound no more. After shut down and restart sound will disappear.

Where did you change bro? My BMW 528i Aircond is not cold. Afraid damage compressor and need to change. Any idea cost & labour? PML will cost Bomb if compressor spoilt. Any advise good workshop? Thanks . Tjekpoa

Any of the site sponsors should be able to help and most cost much less than PML. I got mine changed in JB previously as I am working in JB

Service your aircond first and if the problem still persist change the control valve. Not necessarily mean the compressor is kong
