Bro,

Firstly, which model is your 3er? 2.0 or 2.2 or etc.....?

Hmm...that's strange...got my 318 2 mths back, no such problem....will monitor for any unusual vibration

this is a common valvetronic problem... wonder what is the fix???

Mine also the same sometime. But only happen when the engine is dead cold ie, after some heavy rain cold night or one week never start the car. The vibration stop normally in 1-2 mins when the car gets warm up.

I've this problem too. If any one of you guys went to PML and did the ignition coil change, please post an update? Thanks in advance.

mine is 318 valvetronic. 5 mth old car.

the engine rpm indicator will sometimes 'flutter' when car is stationary, eg at traffic light. (engine fully warmed up). happens on and off. when it happens, i can feel the car shuddering.

anyone experience the same?

I have this similar problem on my e46 320.

I took it to PML and they replaced 2 spark plugs and fuel filter.

2 weeks later problem occured again. :furious:

I took it to my neighbor's workshop and apparently he suspect it could be due to the electronic console that does the air fuel mixture.

Upon scanning, no problem was detected. PML SUCKS :shoot:

Hi ! -X-

This is the problem of Valvetronics Engine.

My friend told me the car is having orgasm

In fact this is normal based on PML feedback :(
I have got used to it :)

hi, hahaha, ya, seems like car reach climax :D

so far it seems quite harmless, so i let it be. as long as it doesn't lead to other problems.

Sorry brother
My model is 318i 2L. If really coil problem, I shall get PML to replace.Davidwee,

did you goto PML? what's their say? Managed to change anything?

I'd just experienced the effects of the 'orgasm' again this morning. but after the temp indicator went above the blue region, the effects stopped.

It is the ignition coil. I had it changed 2 times already and it will last a few months before the 'orgasm' comes back.

BMW is changing the brand of the ignition coil used this time, hopefully it will be much better.

They are now using bosch and I just had my coils changed again not long ago. This is the third time I change the coils already.

had a previous thread about our stock Bremi ignition coils... this is a primary culprit to our valvetronic rough idle...

if due to ignition coil or faulty spark plugs, the vibration persists even after the engine has warmed up....... otherwise, it is normal for the engine 2 vibrate for awhile during cold start in the morn.......
