Does anyone know what is the original suspension for E46 330 coupe? Thinking of changing back to stock for a less bumpy ride....

Re: E46 330 suspension

try the sachs sports suspension.

what are you on now? coilovers?

Re: E46 330 suspension

Wouldnt recommend u to go back to stock unless ur getting pre-owned stock suspension.
The cost is just not worth it...
If you're looking for a comfy suspension setup that wont give u as much performance as coils but drops the car to a relatively slammed height, get the Koni FSDs and Eibach/HnR Springs.

Best combi and will nvr go wrong.
Just need to change ur shock absorber mountings if they have nvr been changed before...

Re: E46 330 suspension

I wont ask why you got to drive it!!

howcome a lady got better car then me? haha

anyway, back to topic

Re: E46 330 suspension

Thanks for your inputs guys! Like what jinooi mentioned, am currently on sachs just not too sure if this was the stock suspension. i think it's time to change!

Read some previous posts and Koni FSDs/Eibach seems to be the fave combination. Does this combi lower the car alot? My main priority now is comfort, dun wanna lower too much as a bit sian of going very cautiously at humps. Roasty's car is even lower than mine haha!

the prob with shocks/springs combo is that if it ends up too high or too low, too hard or too soft, u cant do anything about it..

coilovers are always easier to configure.. whether it be ride height or comfort level.

Re: E46 330 suspension

haha, yogi, were you on the ecp this morning?

saw a lady driving a red coupe. was that you?

Re: E46 330 suspension

I agree with Roasty, Yogi why dont you raise your coilovers and soften the dampening a bit, you will be surprised at how different it will be

Jin, ive seen 2 red coupes with lady drivers around, Im never sure if it Yigo or not!!

+1

you never know when you are going to get tired of the comfortable soft ride and want something stiffer and more stable.

Deb... the Koni FSD option is one helluva comfortable setup of you dont mind the softness or should I say comfort... CBS swears by it... I concur with him. :yummie:

ya man.. her car is 10x more modded than mine.. if i see her car in my rearview mirror, i will give way for sure.. :)

Re: E46 330 suspension

lol gavin.
define 10 x more modded !

KONI FSD setup damn comfy.
Not say LOW means everything.
On track, yes.
But in Singapore roads, the bumps and the humps.... I'll choose comfy over LOW and STIFF.

Coils are good for handling and tracking no doubt, but how often u get to corner at 100km/hr in Singapore without the fear of getting caught?
With a strut bar and the KONI FSD setup, cornering at 80km/hr isnt a problem.

I've tried many cars with coils setup. No doubt handling damn good. But butt comfort level not that good.

Since Yogi is looking for a comfy setup, i'll definately recommend u to get the KONI setup.
Drops your car, gives u better handling and is as comfy as stock. Some say even more comfy than stock.

Just my 2cents.

Re: E46 330 suspension

eh herman, u getting commission from koni izzit? :uhhh:

pushing everyone towards FSD?

sorry yogi, end OT.

Re: E46 330 suspension

jinooi, yup that should be me, you must be the AC kitted E46! Phil might have seen my car a couple of times on the road too...

Andy, me long time no mod oredi so a bit outta touch, car undergoing maintenance phase now haha.

I oredi have strut bar and H&R sways, so like what Herman says, Konis are perhaps the best option since I dun track. But i still find it hard to believe it could potentially be more comfy than stock!

Re: E46 330 suspension

yup that was me. was quite hard to miss a red coupe with a couple of hot chicks in the car.

was admiring your ride but had to turn off at keppel.

nice ride btw :)

Re: E46 330 suspension

what else you want to mod, BROTHER!

Koni good enough already.. if not buy sedan stock suspension.. 4 fingers height .. cfm comfortable
