Extensive weight reduction has saved over 250kg off the car. The engine, aided by the supercharger produces 550hp and torque is at 680Nm. 0-100km/h come in 4.5 seconds and the top speed is close to 310km/h...

Think it can be done, but the pic does not look like the e39 M5 engine leh...

and a weight savings of 250 kg is very impressive to say the very least!

Ya la, engine looks like a V8 from 540i ?. Intake manifold bulging a good few inches from the cylinder head. Looks like a "Scooby" type air-to-air intercooler up there as well.
The SC blower cannot be seen but the thick aluminium bracket is very visible in from of the engine block. Possible to run up to 24 PSI boost to get about 540 hp from a 333 hp V8. Considering Hartge, they must have tweaked the internals seriously to take that torque. The new M5 tranny in there ???. Maybe.

Gpower in Holland or Finland has been building supercharged BMWs for racing for years. I remembered Gpower did a SC version of E46M3 that pulls 450HP so it could race in the Porsche class, so another 100 hp for V8 would seem easy.....hehe
