Hi there,
I have bought a BMW 318i, year 92, this May and now the automatic transmission have problems. The diagnosis is that it has pressure regulator problem.
The gear indication light is lit and the car loses its power at first gear. But the subsequent gear is ok. By turning of the engine and then restart, the gear indication light is off and the car is back to normal. However after driving certain distance, the same problem repeat.
Anyone know if I were to change / overhaul, should I change only the pressure regulator or the whole transmission? I know it is quite costly to overhaul the transmission.
Thanks and Regards,
Sam
