E36 something is holding me back, please help

Hi, something is holding me back when accelerating which I am not certain of what's currently happening to my E36, after every change of the gear, I could feel that it is not moving as smoothly as it should be. No modification done recently. I would like the members of the community to help me out. Thanks.

Did you check your rear view mirror to see who or what that might be? The transformers are in town lately u noe?

Yo, could be a host of reasons. Air filter clogged, fuel regulator and/or pump aged, Air sensor dirty etc etc. Manual or Auto?

Drive it to the workshop!

In the latest issue of Top Gear mag, Homer Simpson had a similar experience... but after Bart told him how about the existence of the handbrake, Homer said, "Talk about a sudden burst of acceleration!!"
