Hi !! all currently now on a new project to mod an E34-M5 block into an E 36
would love to hear from any ............ ANy advise or comments would be appreciated

I don't think its worth the effort. The S50B30/32 engine is a much better choice and its usually cheaper and availability isn't much of an issue compared to S38.

You could always put in the 4.4L V8 since you're prepared to go through all that trouble............
or put a 3.0L w/ SC

S38 is a dinosaur, heavy and complicated and fuel-inefficient, expensive to maintain, still uses a distributor-points type ignition.. c'mon man it's the 21st century

It doesn't fit the E36 chassis properly, requiring custom mounts, the bonnet won't close properly etc

Best avoided, you are downgrading your E36 if you put an S38 in it
