e34 Aircon "cooling coil"

HI All,

i have an e34 1989 model. The A/C blower does not seem to be strong and the workshop has advised that the entire dashboard has to be removed in order to wash the cooling coil.

Any idea if its true? I cannot imagine trusting them to remove the dashboard and putting it back in one piece

err... i did recalled a big removal for the internal a/c cooling coil / blower area, but i did not see, went shopping instead & pick the car up later...

Most of the BMW model has got the cooling fan coil behind the dash board.

Get someone competent to do the job as there is a lot of gaskets that needs to be replaced together to avoid squeaking..

Hi Guys,

was at Precision Auto Mech today and the advised that there is nothing substantially wrong and the cost of cooling coil and labour is not worth the effort as its still usable. Topped up gas and everything seems fine.

sounds fair enough, i used to use till it breaks since its not a vital part of the car.
