does not work for 5 and 6 series.... :(

The site says 3-series (assume is E46), X3, X5 and Z4.

IMO, the Dension product is another worthy alternative. It has all of the features plus it would be able to display the id tag information back to the headunit, that is way too cool, imagine it shows the track name, artiste and album name!!

However, buying it may be a hassle, you would have to order it from either US (you would need a US address and US credit card) or from Europe.

Link is here on IceLink Plus http://www.dension.com/icelink_info.htm

The cost is about the same.

You could do an online search, I remember I found one online store from UK that would ship to Singapore.

Depends on year of manufacture .. mine was Philips in E46, for E39, I am not sure.

But if you are buying IceLink Plus, there is no need to know because they just need to know which model and year of manufacturing.

Guys...trying to understand better the reason to install the iPod thingy. I thought it may not be necessary if its just about playing the songs from your ipod.

Why not simply get an iTrip...which will allow any headunit (car or home) to play from the ipod ?

Pls advise...

It has got to do with SQ.

I have tried iTrip, and compared it head to head, in this case, playing the same song, on cassette adapter and iTrip, I have to say, cassette adapter won.

Any of these adapter will provide direct audio in to the HU, it will gives even better SQ compare to cassette adapter.

iTtrip is very convenient no doubt, and if you do not like wires and not particular about SQ, then it is a good choice.
