DMS Remap

Despite calling the hotel room many times and also leaving my name and number, the DMS team failed to call me until 5pm yesterday, just a couple of hours before they were due to fly out.

This despite contacting DMS in the UK several months ago and stating I wanted the upgrade when they came out.

Now, they did apologise, saying they had been swamped with demand and it seems their remap is very popular, but that doesn't help me because I couldn't suddenly dash over at such short notice.

Anyway, did anyone on here have the remap and how pleased are you with the result?

Re: DMS Remap

I'm sorry to hear of your predicament. I managed to get Rob from DMS on Monday and had the remap done (Jack drove by and I couldn't help but admire those sweet rims! :) ). It took all of 15 mins with a direct plug into the onboard ECU with his laptop...was thinking to myself...is that all?! Right away though, I noticed a difference....shifts were much smoother. As for power, there is more mid-range torque but I haven't really pushed the car esp since the speed limiter was also removed. Had a beer with him afterwards and he was a mine of info! Told me about his code breaking antics with BMW and Porsches..you wouldn't believed the number of v.expensive cars he has disabled to create his remaps...guess that's what we pay for!
Hope you get it done next time he's in town.

Hi hcsiow,
i think it'd be great if you could share your "review" of the re-map once you get a chance to zua your car. I have this fear that the re-mapping is tuned for continental weather and may not work well in our climate. any bros got experience to share?

I'm driving a E90 330 and i'm looking to give my car a bit more kick since i came from driving an evo and a SC is years away!

BTW, what car do you drive?

Hi all. He promised to be back in a month's time. However, knowing Rob, you've gotta add a couple of months to that. I'm in constant ctc with DMS in the UK and will keep you guys posted.

Just came back from a spin to Sentosa and on the AYE. YES, I can definitely confirm there is a power boost and this is across the entire range. Feels like I have the sport mode on all the time. Max power is supposed to occur at lower RPMs but I'm unable to fully push the power to redline from 2nd gear on as I am already exceeding our speed limits but the power increase is definitely noticeable, even in a M3.

Ping...you still need the connector to download the program into the ECU and I don't think Rob will teach you how to overcome the ECUs protective codes. No choice have to wait :)

Re: DMS Remap

if it indeed feels like sports mode, how much of this butt feel is due to actual torque and power gains and how much is actually down to increased throttle sensitivity?

my Z4 comes alive when i press the sport button and feels more powerful, torquey and responsive.... all this despite gaining a grand total of 0bhp.

anyone actually did a before and after dyno and might be willing to share it?

thanks
