Has anyone here performed these updates? Any feedback and where did you do it?

Before MA, I did it for my M3 at Riverview.

Hi Clar, mind elaborate on"riverview" ? Hearsay DCT software from the GTS can be installed too.

Riverview Auto is a workshop in Ang Mo Kio industrial estate:

RIVERVIEW AUTO SERVICES | One-Stop Car Servicing & Workshop

I did the normal software update. Why would you want the GTS software? I think you would be inviting unnecessary trouble. The DCT software in our M3 is already very well sorted.

The GTS DCT software can be installed on the M3. Essentially they have the same gearbox. The GTS DCT software has a more aggressive kick and it shifts marginally faster than the one on the regular M3. I know this because I was running this software on my previous M3. Even the one on our M3, is alot tamer on the upshifts and downshifts. The DCT GTS software blips ~ 1,150 rpm compared to ~1,000rpm on the normal DCT software.

I uncle, i like it smooth since I don't track my M3 :)

Re: DME & DCT software update on M3

Uncle Clar is right. GTS has a larger clutch pack and secondary cooler to allow gear shift at 90ms while standard DCT does 140ms. Thus, putting GTS map might harm your box in the long run. Best bet here is to go for Evolve GTS software, which mimic a GTS map but shift at 110ms. I have contacted them and they are able to provide remote update at a very reasonable price.

If u guys can discern any difference in improvement, then your asses are definitely more sensitive than my fat ass. Personally, i would rather fix the occasional humping act from the DCT when I am non-committal with my throttle input than shave a few tenths in the shift time.

Re: DME & DCT software update on M3

Read that GTS version fixes granny shift issue and more importantly engine braking affect when on manual mode as slowing car down but somehow gearbox likes to kick down to 2nd gear resulting in sudden engine braking. Only thing stopping me to upgrade to GTS software is potential issue of faster shift via our standard M3 gear box.

Anyone upgraded, would like to hear your feedback.
