Singapore....hmm.. i would say no.

If they could, they would need a hood to do the mould..and check whether the fitting could work.

Given the number of people in Singapore who would want to do a CF bonnet is close to... zero haha.

Better to try your luck in the USA?

Hi Tanzy, I guess that if u were to fab one yourself, you'll be the 1st in the world to have a CF hood for your Z4!! :drool:

There are a couple of designs for the E46 coupes though, with the GTR design!

Where do you get all these parts from? But that is for E46, right.

The vents a bit too big. Any different designs?
 
Hahahaha, that is a pure CF hood model after the E46 M3 GTR...

Can fit M3 & non-M, they dun make it for Z4......so U can just :drool: loh....

Wil, i was looking at this one too! Nice M3 GTR hood. :drool:

There were a couple for sale, like US$600+... but I ain't sure about the quality! And there are a few vent designs that u can choose from, but I still love this over the rest! :inlove:
 
Wilman, how much is the hood in the picture? might be looking for a new hood to improve cooling and lighten the weight. only thing scared is sure kenna lane 8 one...

Don't think CF hood will constitute Lane 8 mah! Only problem about CF is that once it breaks, there goes the hood, no such thing as repairing CF unless its the transparent layer that gets damaged and not the weave below.

Wonder too if CF hood changes colour after a while. I've seen someone change to CF engine cover and after 5-6mths, the CF engine cover's clearcoat turned yellowish. Not very nice at all, after spending tons of moolah on it. :hmmidont:

By the way Tanzy, I remember coming across (on the evo forum) a shop that do custom CF parts.... not sure about quality and price though. Perhaps you can try to do a search there or you can ask one of the evo owners here to find out for ya.
 
It's not tough doing a Z4 bonnet at all. But you have to give them a mould to work with? Unless Tanzy is willing to drive with a super CAI (no bonnet) for a few weeks. hahahahahahaha.

U have to remember that ur car is not FI...

Therefore if u have a scoop in the rain, water will be sucked into the induction system and u will end up with a hydrolock in your engine...

Which then, u will have a legitimate reson to change to a 3.2L engine !!!! :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:
 
Looks like I have to give up on the CF hood. Currently, there's no CF Z4 hood on the market yet.

Side fin useless. For air intake better to have positive pressure from the front.

If it is well made, there is no reason why the CF bonnet will turn colour after several months.

I guess you might be right that a CF hood might not constitute a lane 8 violation, I am trying to achieve something that is slighly more subtle. A few vents will be nice and not exactly the huge holes they have on this hood.

Something like this in fact...
