Cup Holder Jammed in E90

Guys,

I thk I really had enough of my E90. Today the cup holder jammed to add to the list of problems. abt 1 month ago the centre locking died on me.

Today spend an hour waiting at the service centre to get a stupid cup holder changed.

I thk I am going change ride since COE is at rock bottom now. Damn itchy for a 523 but again worried about BMW as my first encounter with a BM (E90) is not really a pleasant one.

which yr is your E90? Don't have many problems with mine. Might be a lemon.

Got that problem too, not going to bother with it, using the rear cupholders for the time being

Why don't you add Singer oil to the moving parts? Singer oil is damn good.

I managed to jam mine before also - happens when you press it in at the corner furthest away from you (e.g. pushing the driver side cupholder in from the passenger seat). Managed to replace under warranty.

My cupholder also jammed once before, but worked again after some twiddling. But I seldom use it anyway..... maybe will jam again the next time I pop it out!

My right cupholder (nearest to driver) has jammed sometime back...removed it over the holiday period to see if fixable. the coil spring has somehow came loose and almost impossible to fix.

got a new one from Eng Soon for SGD60 and self fixed...sadly had to buy a pair since the newer batches come with chrome strips not flush black.

full black (no stock unless u purchase online from ebay.UK - RHD cars only for GBP24 ex.ship) vs chrome strip

cannot remove the chrome strip? i tink it is rather ugly looking. have a feeling bmw designers wanted to have some chrome trimmings as this is the new trend and they cant figure out where to put them chrome until they saw the cup holder...
