Creaks in E90

My E90 is still very very new and I can hear the creaks from the doors....damn irritating when going over humps and bumps......right now Im in PML for my first servicing, kiasu abit haha, told the SE and he said oh have to stick the friction tapes or someting like that, something stick on? Hmmmm I tot they are supposed to spray some silicon solution or something like that???

Hey how're you? Your ex K&N filter still in my car.

I'm having these creaks after about six months. Do keep the thread posted on what they do to remedy this.

Having this problem too... fours doors all creaking in less than 1 mth. Going PML next week for servicing. Will keep thread posted on solutions + cost.

I am also having the problem of creaks on the driver side door of my month old E60 523i. It's very iritating and I am looking high and low for the source. Well, now I know it's not only for my car but others also have this problem. Ok good news for everyone!!! PML pasted friction tapes on the door seals and now the car is totally silent, and I mean TOTALLY silent. Its a transparent type of tape. Very very good! Now very happy with the car!!!

how long can these friction tape last?
the last time i went, they greased the rubber seals.

Yo guys, any idea how long they did to do that? I need to get them to fix the brake vacuum issue also.

Talk of the devil...after posting in the forum that my ride is creak free, the creaks are back when I drove it out earlier....damn sianz man.......:furious:

damn jialat, now finally back from reservice, I think I will be going PML to make some noise already. damn jialat, creaking here and there for such a car.....damn lousy lor.....

ya man, I should have gotten Civic Type R or the new Evo 10 instead. Knn E90 got promo again.....last time I bought my civic, pricing went up after I bought it, and now the price is still more expensive then when I first bought it.....E90 I buy already, price dropped 2 to 3 times already.....sibeh sianz.....somemore problematic. Ok I think I shall try to sell it. Most prob get the evo 10 hehehe, drove my fren's evo 10.....wet already hahaha

You will only enjoy your ride by realigning your expectation and tolerance of faulty sensors...esp when you are so used to japo before your current.
I can't say much about the build quality of E90, I can affirm that bmw builds great cars, not necessary the most reliable.

Just went to PML Kg Arang to get the creaking noise fixed but was told they ran out of the 3M friction tape. Was advised by the SE to get it done at the first servicing...Wah, doesn't this means that they have a lot of cars with this problem! Shouldn't they solve the problem before they deliver the car to us or at least stick the tape on to save us all the hassle.:furious:

wa liao you got 2 chances some more.... one is before buying your first E90, then crash, then now 2nd chance you also blew it on an E90.

Oh I found out that my creaks has been resolved due to some scotch tape stuck at the door seals, I didnt dispose of it properly and as for my brakes, due to my aftermarket rims, after fix back stock rims, sound gone. haha and also the DTC and everything went back to normal. Its aftermarket accessories causing the problems. Now I have a problem free car!!!

I had wanted to go for the 325 but insurance one to one exchange policy didnt allow. Have to get back exact same spec. They said didnt want ppl to make use of this clause to change their cars this way.

BTW now installed the carbon front splitters, sibeh swee, now looking for the matching carbon fibre mirror covers and also the rear diffuser and lip spoiler to be changed to carbon fibre as well

Hi guys, as for the creaking & irritating noises from your E9x, I have the same problem after a few months I took delivery of my ride. Complained & been to service centre a few times, finally, at last, they managed to get the problem resolved.

According to the local distributor, most of the E9x has this so called "manufacturing defect".

Here's the solution: get the distributor to change the rain channels / gutters on both sides of the roof. This is a sure solution for the creaking noises. BMW(AG) is aware of this problem. Refer this solution to PML, if they have doubts, get them to communicate with BMW (AG).

Guys, enjoy your ride, don't allow this little issue to bother your Sheer Driving Pleasure.

Yeah agreed, now enjoying my E90. Actually after solving the kuku issues which I created myself, now the ride is much better! My previous E90 had zero issues, so I guess its a pretty well made car and reliable. Just ordered my carbon fibre mirror cover for my E90 thru Ebay. Cant wait for them to arrive!!!
