15k clutch replacement sounds about right. but depends on usage....of cos. i was revving it n downshifting like crazy.

you can check with the lotus guys. Parts-wise i think its really wher you get your parts from
and maintenance costs-wise seems not too scary as well.

Have fun with the Elise, its a totally difference experience from almost every other car out there. If you like driving, its a dream.
I'd take the Elise and use the spare change for a cheaper runabout for the chores
