Cost of doing a transmission oil change

Recently had a few friends whose 8sp gearbox died on them. That prompted me to go for a transmission box oil change. Of course pml was the first I called. Didnt know I had to sell my son to fund an oil change.

Checked with a few outside workshop. Realised that price defers quite a bit even among the site sponsors. So wanna know whats changed besides e oil. If convenient, can tell me where n how much u paid.

4-5L ATF oil+strainer about 400-500.

am i right to say your son cost abt 1.2k.

Go to one of the bmw stockist to buy the parts, give them your car plate / chassis # they know what to do.

Your need to buy ATF filter & ATF fluid.

Can get from Eng Soon or Integrated

My boss repaired his 7spd valvetronic on 2008 S350 twice, last 2 year breakdown, now again breakdown. Tranny oil change annually approx 50k mileage interval.

The specs as follows - along with the part number from BMW -

Total volume is 9L. But you will never be able to get it all out.

So top up is around 8.5L.

Yours also 8sp?
Was told its 6L.

Merc 7g-tronic also got problem one...just heng suai.

Change atf oil and filter...similar as this:

ZF has some atf oil change guide pdf floating around on the web. Actually the process is not difficult, but...just wondering do workshops use some temperature guage or thermocouple to read the oil temp when refilling?

I ever asked one of the SA at Munich regarding ATF oil change, he told me ZF gearbox no need to change ATF.

Zf recommends at 40k miles... i read somewhere. I usually do at 60k km.

Wats the mileage that PML expects us to change to maintain warranty?
Dun wanna go out change at 60k only to realise that its part of the 60k servicing package with them.
Thats y looking to do early. My mileage is 30k.

By the way, most outside workshops quote between 450 to 700.
Wonder if its the different tranny oil they use that causing the gap.
